Boland Family Tree

The photo is of Patrick Brennan of Carane, via Corballa, near Ballina in Sligo who married Feb 13, 1855 to Maria Boland, born around 1835 in Sligo, Ireland died 1912, Ballina, Ireland. I do not have any photos of my Boland ancestors or their family.

The Boland family came from Tullylin, near Ballina in Sligo, Ireland. Tullylin is now a townland – ie an area that was once a town and is now abandoned. So far as I know Boland is a name that only originates in this area of Ireland. Many Bolands emigrated to Scranton in the USA. I have had trouble tracing the family back any further than my great grandmother Maria Boland and a lot of my information is anecdotal and therefore probably highly inaccurate.
